Boston Massacre

Here beneath the balcony of the State House occurred the Boston Massacre where British soldiers shot and killed five patriots including Crispus Attucks the first Black American to die in the patriotic cause.
 
Interestingly, John Adams and Josiah Quincy defended the soldiers and all but two were acquitted. The guilty had their thumbs branded and were then set free.
