Melissa and I ran 18 miles this weekend in 3:02 training for our marathon. However, my right foot is killing me just below the ankle and her left foot is killer her on the main tendon that connects on the top of her big toe. Could our shoes be the problem? 
I mean, they seem fine to me, but I don’t want to ignore good advice from those more experienced in athletic endeavors. Any thoughts or suggestions? By the way, she hates icing her foot. Hehe...
